Lee Carsley thinks you can “feel” how much Jarell Qaunsah is valued by Liverpool.
At Anfield, the centre back has had a fantastic breakthrough season. After serving as a loan player for Bristol Rovers, Quansah made a name for himself in preseason and became the team’s fifth choice.
Nine games have been played for the Reds by the academy product, who made his Premier League debut in a 3-1 victory over Wolves. Because of his impressive growth, he has also made his way into the England under-21 team.
The young Lions’ head coach, Lee Carsley, feels that Quansah’s maturity is what sets him apart. The reason for the success of the academy product, who led Liverpool’s under-19 team in the UEFA Youth League the previous season, is the faith that Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool coaching staff bestowed upon him.
Carsley told reporters, “He’s really mature.” There’s something about him that sticks out. He has excellent judgement. You get the impression that he and a few other guys simply handle and take whatever obstacle thrown at them in stride.
“You can tell Liverpool think highly of him based on their backing, and when a player senses that, it usually shows in their performances. On Thursday night, I felt that was a fantastic illustration. Getting him some playing time is our first priority. Although he has only made his debut, he is approaching things correctly and, like many other players, will want to start for the under-21 team.”
