Bickle, a 21-year-old milkman from St Austell, joined Argyle at the age of 21, having scored 74 goals in 195 appearances.
After making his debut in December 1965, he finished his first season at Home Park as the leading scorer, having netted seven goals in his first four games.
Bickle became the top scorer for Argyle for four seasons in a row and is one of only two men in club history to score four goals in a single game twice.
For a £4,000 price, he moved from Argyle to Gillingham in the summer of 1971, but a neck injury the following season forced him to retire at the age of 29.
When Argyle played premier league Manchester City in 1973 in front of 12,000 fans, Bickle was given a testimonial and was employed at Devonport Dockyard following the conclusion of his playing career.
