Ibrox View: Rangers set for cash injection soon as £12m admission emerges Ibrox News

Philippe Clement couldn’t have got off to a much better start at Rangers, with the Belgian remaining unbeaten in Glasgow after his first month in charge.

The Light Blues are still in the running for the championship, have secured a spot in the Viaplay Cup final, and appear poised to go to the Europa League knockout rounds; yet, focus is already shifting to the January transfer window.

Under Michael Beale’s direction, Rangers spent a lot of money this summer and are unlikely to do so when the transfer window opens again. However, the Ibrox club may benefit monetarily as one of their former players is expected to make a permanent move soon.

After an outstanding start to the season on loan with a Dutch club, it looks as though Malik Tillman may be about to make the transfer permanently to PSV. The American forward is thrilled to be moving to the Netherlands.

He stated, “I want to develop further in Eindhoven and who knows what will be possible next,” as reported by the Daily Record on November 23. What will happen is up to Bayern and PSV, so I’m not sure.

I don’t think I have many issues, though, if PSV turns on the buy option. At PSV, I would be performing at a high level by then. My goal is to improve and eventually advance once more.

Rangers and Bayern Munich have an agreement that pays Clement’s team an initial £1 million plus 10% of any future fees the 21-year-old earns the German powerhouses. PSV has the option to make the move permanent for £12 million.

This implies that the Light Blues would receive a handsome £1.2 million in addition to the £1 million they made during the summer transfer window if this deal closes in January.

Although that is not exactly a large transfer fee in the context of modern football, it might provide a much-needed lift to the Ibrox transfer window as Clement gets ready for his first window in charge in Glasgow and attempts to bolster his team.

The Belgian prefers to play with wingers on his team, but Clement’s options at Ibrox right now are quite restricted. The only traditional wide players in his lineup are Ross McCausland, Scott Wright, and Rabbi Matondo.

Although a permanent winger transfer is unlikely to cost £1.2 million, it might be sufficient to finance a six-month loan for the Gers to see them through the conclusion of the current campaign. A more extensive squad overhaul is probably in store for the summer of 2019.

In other Rangers news, Chris Jack said that Clement already finds himself in an Ibrox “no-win” scenario.
