NFL world reacts to horrible Detroit Lions omen

Even the moon is against the Detroit Lions.

As sports gambling becomes more and more popular across the United States, prospective bettors are always seeking an edge as they try to pick games and rake in profits. And that quest for an edge might have some sports gamblers looking at the moon ahead of Thursday’s game between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.

As sports statistical analyst Jay Cuda pointed out on social media this week, the moon phase does not provide a very good omen for how the Lions are expected to perform against the Green Bay Packers during their traditional Thanksgiving Day game.

“I have bad news for the Lions,” Cuda began in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

“Since the afl/nfl merger, they are 0-12 (.000) on thanksgiving when the moon is in a waxing gibbous phase. tomorrow is a waxing gibbous,” Cuda continued in his post.

We’ll have to see whether or not the Lions can prove the bizarre omen wrong, or whether they fall to 0-13 when the moon is in waxing gibbous.
