Swindon Town Women is delighted to announce the appointment of Jonny House as assistant manager to Richard Wood.
The 28-year-old, who most recently held coaching and managerial positions at Bath University and Warminster Town Ladies, joins Town after serving in a number of local women’s football roles.
“I am really excited to be here,” House exclaimed as soon as he entered the club. Richard and I had a similar vision for Swindon Town Women’s future, and it was clear from our first conversation that we wanted them to succeed on and off the pitch.
Richard praised the club and the assistance it offers to the women’s division. I can’t wait to pick their brains at the club. There are some really smart people there.
I think my wealth of experience will benefit the team, and I enjoy coaching and watching players grow both on and off the pitch. My responsibility will be to assist Richard, the staff, and the players in any manner that I can.
As I am sure the team is grateful for the fans’ support, I can’t wait to visit Foundation Park and get to know everyone. COYR.
Richard Wood, the manager of Swindon Town Women, stated the following about the new hire: “I am delighted to bring in Jonny House to support myself, our coaching team, and players.”
Above all, Jonny exemplifies the kind of conduct and morals that the club and I share.
“He has extensive experience in the women’s game, having managed senior players at Bath University and, more recently, Warminster Town Ladies, as well as developing young talent in Wiltshire.”
“Jonny understands what it means to be representing Swindon Town because he is an avid fan of the team.
“He has blended right in with the group, and as we work to advance this exciting project and continuously improve in all areas, I look forward to working with him to review, develop, and improve our coaching environment.”
House assumes the position subsequent to Richard Wood’s elevation to manager following Mike Cook’s departure in September to assume a well-known position with National League North team Gloucester City.
“From sitting down with Jonny during the interview process it was clear to see he has a real passion and enthusiasm for coaching and more importantly Women’s football,” Head of Football Jamie Russell said in reference to this appointment.
“Jonny has a wealth of knowledge about the women’s game and we look forward to him putting this into practise with our women’s team.”
