Good news:as Celtics star announces return from injury.

The Boston Celtics may soon be getting back to full strength.

Star center and offseason acquisition Kristaps Porzingis took to Instagram to let fans know that he’d be suiting up for the team’s next game, Friday at home against the New York Knicks.

Porzingis has missed the last four games due to a calf injury.

The 28-year-old last played on Nov. 24 against the Orlando Magic, when he was limited to a season-low 22 minutes of action. Porzingis took the court and started in 15 of the team’s first 16 contests.

Four times The Celtics, who are currently atop the Eastern Conference, have had All-Star forward Jayson Tatum play in all 20 games, while fellow All-Star forward Jaylen Brown has participated in 19 games. Just two games have been missed by All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday (another offseason acquisition), and shooting guard Derrick White has participated in and started 17 of the first 20 games.

In his third NBA season with the Knicks in 2017–18, Porzingis was an All-Star. He has never played for a team with this much depth, talent, or championship aspirations. Porzingis’ numbers might not stand out as much this season as they did in prior years because of the strong roster that surrounds him, but his health is crucial to Boston’s championship aspirations.
