Bolton Wanderers striker Conor Carty is attracting interest from elsewhere, as detailed in a report by The Bolton News.
Bolton Wanderers have a decision to make regarding the youngster’s situation ahead of the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old Carty was recently on loan at St Patrick’s Athletic in the League of Ireland.
After his return to the ToughSheet Community Stadium this winter, The Bolton News reports that interest in the attacker is “high.”
Although Carty gives Bolton greater attacking competition and depth, the options available to them at his position make it unlikely that he will play regularly for Ian Evatt’s first team this season. So it would be wise to take another loan spell away next month.
In 2022, the Trotters made a bold move to acquire the forward from Wolves, a Premier League team. Since making the switch, he has made one appearance for the North West team and been sent to Gateshead and Oldham Athletic in the National League to gain some non-league experience.
When St Pat’s came calling in February, he was able to play with the Saints for a considerable amount of time and contributed six goals in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Before Wolves brought Carty to England in 2017, he began his career in the academies at Kilcullen AFC and St Francis in Ireland.
Monday marks Bolton’s return to action as they travel to Fratton Park on the road to face Portsmouth, another team vying for promotion. Despite having a game in hand, they are currently three points behind John Mousinho’s team in the standings.
The Trotters will be brimming with confidence after thrashing Exeter City 7-0 in their previous game.
