Wrexham boss blast players

Wrexham return to league action and face up to the notoriously hectic Christmas fixture list which could shape their promotion hopes.

Between Saturday and New Year’s Day, the Reds have six League Two games left, four of which are scheduled for a busy 10-day stretch over the Christmas holiday. Wrexham’s season may be shaped by this stretch, which manager Phil Parkinson is looking forward to because there are so many points up for grabs.

“We have a significant run coming up in December and the Christmas season,” Parkinson informed media prior to the trip to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday. “You have to be realistic; players will be needed, but this is an amazing and exciting time. I am eagerly anticipating the upcoming games.

“December is a fantastic month to play football, so it was our goal to ensure everyone was ready for that crucial time of year. We therefore tried to alter as much as we could for the match against Burton. It all comes down to planning, and we have a really exciting month or so ahead of us.”

League Two clubs have a busy December ahead of them starting tomorrow when Wrexham travels to Gloucestershire to play struggling Forest Green at The New Lawn. A new temporary stand is being built off the field, and it will boost SToK Racecourse’s visibility before the holiday games.
