Good news: as Wrexham co-owner gives huge donation towards

Ryan Reynolds really does have a heart of gold, with a huge donation made to help cover the medical bills of ex-Wrexham star Martyn Chalk.

Chalk, a former midfielder for the Red Dragons, was involved in a serious accident that left him with multiple fractures and a broken femur, leaving him stranded in Thailand. Prior to being unable to return home, the 54-year-old—who lived at Racecourse Ground for six years between 1996 and 2002—must pay for any medical care he has received. A two-month stay in the Far East is anticipated.

To help with that, a GoFundMe page was created, with a £1000 initial goal. Reynolds, a co-owner of Wrexham, has chosen to match that amount on his own, with the Deadpool star once more reaching into his pocket.

Reynolds has made significant investments in Wrexham as a football team and the community that the Welsh organisation serves, along with fellow co-chairman Rob McElhenney. Rewards have been seen on the pitch, as the city is now thriving following its prominent appearance in the documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham,” and promotion back into the EFL has been secured.

While funds have been donated to numerous other causes connected to the now League Two promotion-chasing Red Dragons team, Reynolds assisted the wife of Red Dragons star Anthony Forde in getting a second opinion regarding the brain tumour that had left her in a “living nightmare.”
