Leeds United “frequent” talks over to sign Galatasaray attacker in January now concluded positive’

The revelation is surprising given that two Leeds fans, Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight, were murdered on the eve of a UEFA Cup match in 2000. Nigel Martyn told us about what happened that night.

However, according to Fanatik, Leeds are striving to put that animosity aside as they look to sign Turkey star Akturkoglu. The 25-year-old drew attention after playing for the Turkish national team.

He has assisted on 15 goals in 27 appearances this season. He has 74 goals and assists in 150 games for Galatasaray. Regardless of the team for which he plays, Akturkoglu is an extremely talented player.

According to the source, Leeds and Serie A giants Lazio have been in constant contact over the last fortnight about a possible trade. However, according to the report, Galatasaray are unwilling to sell the attacker.

Leeds in talks to sign Galatasaray star Kerem Akturkoglu

Not least, until the summer, which comes as no surprise considering his remarkable form – and the fact that he is under contract until the summer of 2026. A player who has piqued the interest of many this season on the Champions League stage.

They qualified for the Europa League after Christmas, thanks to Akturkoglu’s two goals, one of which was a spectacular finish in a 3-3 tie with Manchester United. He also scored in United’s 3-2 victory at Old Trafford.

So, a legitimate player with 26 caps for his country. However, it appears unlikely that Leeds would be willing to go down at the bargaining table with Galatasaray to reach an agreement.

Is a winger even necessary for Leeds? Maybe if Willy Gnonto or Crysencio Summerville decide to leave in January. Summerville, on the other hand, is likely expected to remain on Elland Road.
