Millwall to reward 2023 signing with new contract’

The 20-year-old only appeared once for the club in the second half of last season, but has had more opportunities this time around. Emakhu has appeared in 16 games in all competitions, contributing a goal and an assist.

His achievements are now expected to be rewarded with a new contract, according to a new report from London News Online. The length of the upcoming new contract is not specified, but he is set to sign new terms, guaranteeing his future at The Den.

New Millwall boss Joe Edwards hasn’t made use of Emakhu in the last two second-tier games but this development marks a show of faith in his abilities and potential.

Deserving of more opportunities?

This season, Emakhu has been a member of every Millwall matchday squad. However, as the club’s bad form has continued, there has been some call for the former Shamrock Rovers teenager and other potential prospects to be given an opportunity in the team as more senior players struggle.

The hectic holiday schedule could create opportunities for him to play as Edwards and his teammates deal with the rapid turnarounds between games. Hopefully, Emakhu can demonstrate his worth right away and secure a spot for the foreseeable future.

This fresh agreement marks a show of faith in his abilities and over the course of the coming years, the Millwall forward will be aiming to take his game to the next level.
