It is understood that several Spanish clubs are interested in the young prospect, who joined Wolves in 2020 from FC Porto for a club-record fee of £35.6million, as per BBC Sport.
Silva has made just three league starts this season under Gary O’Neil despite a breakthrough 2022/23 season. The centre-forward spent the first half of the season on loan with Anderlecht, where he scored 11 goals in 32 appearances.
He was then shipped to PSV Eindhoven for the second half of the season, making 19 appearances and scoring five goals. After such a successful season away, many hoped he would play a more important role at Wolves.
The forward has scored just five goals in 72 appearances in Wolves colours – a far cry from the club-record fee spent on a promising 18-year-old. It may be time for the Midlands club to cut their losses and move the striker on.
And with Rangers’ striker situation, Silva could be the perfect fit. While Abdallah Sima is in fine form, he is only on loan until the end of the season, with a potential upcoming trip to the Africa Cup of Nations next month.
A new injury to Kemar Roofe will be a concern, with Danilo already sidelined and Cyriel Dessers only just coming into form. Silva could solve a lot of problems for Philippe Clement, who has plenty of experience in the Belgian and Dutch leagues.
A fresh face in the squad’s attacking arsenal would be a huge relief for Clement as Rangers aim for European success, as well as pipping Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title. Pipping their rivals to an exciting player could be just the start.
