PAINFUL; Following an alleged football game mockery by a Sunderland supporter, thousands were raised for charity.

The charity, which was established by Bradley Lowery’s family following his death from cancer in 2017, has so far raised more than £11,000.

For a foundation established in honor of a teenage football enthusiast who passed away from cancer after it looked that he was made fun of during a game, thousands of pounds have been raised.

After Sheffield Wednesday’s 3-0 Championship loss to Sunderland on Friday, a sphone that appeared to show Bradley Lowery’s face was held up by two males, aged 31 and 27, who are still being arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency.

By Sunday night, the Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Women’s fans’ group had raised almost £11,115 for The Bradley Lowery Foundation.

On Saturday, they created a GoFundMe page, which has since surpassed its initial £5,000 goal.

 

The money will be used to build Super Brads Pad, a vacation home that the foundation is constructing near Scarborough.

The Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Women’s supporters group had nearly £11,115 in donations for The Bradley Lowery Foundation by Sunday night.

They started a GoFundMe page on Saturday, and it has since reached its £5,000 target.

 

The funds will be utilized to create Super Brads Pad, a vacation home being built by the foundation close to Scarborough.

On the website of the foundation, a pair of football boots autographed by Sunderland defender Daniel Ballard are also up for auction.

The foundation expressed its gratitude to everyone who had contacted it to express their outrage at the behavior at the game in a post on X (previously Twitter), saying it was “overwhelmed” by the outpouring of support.

Durham Police contacted Bradley Lowery’s parents Carl and Gemma Lowery after getting numerous calls and texts about the pictures.

The six-year-old had neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer that was discovered when he was just 18 months old. At the age of six, he passed away in 2017.

He developed a close bond with striker Jermain Defoe, who referred to him as his “best mate,” and served as the mascot for both Sunderland and England.

According to Ms. Murphy of Sky News, “Bradley brought the football community together, and his campaign brought rivalries from all over the world together.”

“He underwent a number of arduous treatments, but he always did so with a smile on his face, and that smile is what everyone remembers him for.”
