Aston Villa are now ready to sell two senior players this month

Aston Villa could now reportedly sell Calum Chambers and Leander Dendoncker this month, with the duo struggling for minutes this season.

The pair were inherited by Unai Emery after the Spanish manager’s appointment at Villa Park in October 2022, yet despite previously working with the likes of Chambers, the defensive pair haven’t featured often.

This season, across all competitions, Dendoncker has only played 319 minutes of football, while Chambers has only managed 178 minutes—none of which have been in the Premier League.

Now that the Villians appear prepared to seriously contend for the Premier League title, Emery is reportedly willing to let go of Chambers and Dendoncker, according to the Athletic.

In fact, if the transfer team plays their cards correctly, Chambers and Dendoncker could fetch some respectable fees, even though Villa won’t break any records with either player.

Additionally, considering the potential of both players for the right team, Villa needs to start working quickly to find new residences for Chambers and Dendoncker.

Aston Villa must sell Calum Chambers and Leander Dendoncker

Given their limited playing time this season, it seems likely that Villa will consider offloading Dendoncker and Chambers this month.

Although it seems certain that Villa won’t be the team to carry on their legacies, the two are still in the prime of their careers and could still offer a lot in the Premier League.

But, considering the amount of money that is currently being spent in the English Premier League, it might not take long for Chambers and Dendoncker to find new teams this month.
