According to the Sheffield Star, Gregory is currently garnering interest from a “handful” of EFL clubs.
The 35-year-old scored against Southampton on the opening day of the season and appeared to be a vital asset for the Owls.
But he has scarcely played under Rohl, and given his lack of game time, he could be made available this month.
Gregory hasn’t even seen much of the bench under his current manager, and Bailey Cadamarteri’s first-team debut won’t assist Gregory’s desire for more playing time.

Wrexham, according to Darren Witcoop, are interested in Gregory.
However, the same journalist has stated that the Welsh side are also interested in Peterborough United attacker Jonson Clarke-Harris.
Gregory could be a more cost-effective alternative for the fourth-tier club, which appears to have some lofty goals on their shortlist.

Gregory appears to be out of Rohl’s plans at this stage, with the latter looking to boost the club’s striker department this month.
“I think we know this (a striker being at the top of his priority list),” he told BBC Radio Sheffield (via Sheffield Star).
“We need some players in front of us who have the ability to finish.” This is throughout the team, and you can see that this is a team that can compete with our opponents.
“I have never seen a game since I arrive here that we weren’t in the game, OK maybe you look back and maybe Millwall, but in this game we had many chances.”
Scott Hogan of Birmingham City is said to be on the Owls’ wishlist – and owner Chansiri is willing to pay big wages to bring a striker in.
