John Buckley set to leave Sheffield Wednesday
Wednesday signed midfielder John Buckley on loan from fellow Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old has played 13 times for the club, with his last appearance coming from the bench in the game against Queens Park Rangers before Christmas.
Now, according to The Star, Buckley is set to return to Blackburn today to begin his recovery from the shoulder injury he has picked up.
Sheffield Wednesday will terminate the player’s loan deal, and he will then remain at Ewood Park for the remainder of the campaign.
Tyreeq Bakinson in talks to join Standard Liege
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Belgian side Standard Liege are in advanced talks to sign Tyreeq Bakinson from Wednesday.
The Italian goes on to say that the midfielder is in high demand and this comes after the 25-year-old has struggled for regular game time.
Bakinson joined the Owls in the summer of 2022 from Bristol City, and since then, he has gone on to make 42 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
The defensive midfielder has struggled this season, featuring just eight times in the Championship, with only three coming as starts.
His latest appearance was a three-minute cameo against Hull City on Monday night, but it now remains to be seen if he will still be at the club in time for their next game.
