Crystal Palace move to sign £40,000-a-week player compared to Frenkie de Jong:

Crystal Palace admire Tottenham No.4 Oliver Skipp and would like to sign him on loan this month.

That is according to The Athletic.

Well – according to The Athletic – Dougie Freedman is more likely to delve into the loan market this month to bolster Roy Hodgson’s thin squad.

Arsenal No.14 Eddie Nketiah is wanted – a player who has been mentioned heavily this month – although Skipp is a new name on Crystal Palace’s radar.

The England U21 international has found game time hard to come by under Ange Postecoglou this season as Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr are preferred, making just two Premier League starts.

Despite a lack of action, The Athletic add that Tottenham are unlikely to make Skipp available for a loan move this month.

The 23-year-old is a fantastic talent, with Netherlands U21 players even comparing him to Barcelona No.21 Frenkie de Jong back in 2020 after he ran the midfield against them.
