Kilmarnock key man pens new deal to stay at the club for remainder of the season

The 33-year-old had been on a short-term deal but Derek McInnes has seen enough to extend that for the rest of the campaign.

Winger Gary Mackay, an old hand,After reaching an agreement to stay with Kilmarnock until the end of the season, Steven has decided to stay longer.

Derek McInnes signed the 33-year-old in October and he stayed until the winter break, but in his few appearances, the former Scotland international has proven enough to earn a new contract.

Following his summer departure from Hearts, Mackay-Steven made his Killie debut as a late substitute in their 2-1 home victory over Celtic in early December. Since then, he has made four appearances for the Rugby Park team, all coming off the bench.

He’ll keep his No. 39 jersey on and joins the team in time for the Scottish Cup fourth round match against Dundee at home the following weekend.
