Liverpool’s defence is where the club is likely looking to strengthen next. Jurgen Klopp has a few ageing players at his disposal at the moment. And like he did with Liverpool’s midfield last summer – he could now make a changes to the club’s defence.
Especially since Joel Matip’s contract is set to expire. Even though there is a slight possibility that his contract may be renewed. Given his age and injury record it would be more of a sensible decision for Liverpool to move on.
The club is looking at plenty of interesting players in the market. Especially those who are fairly young and have the potential to rejuvenate Klopp’s options.
Edmond Tapsoba on Liverpool’s radar?
In a conversation on talkSPORT transfer expert Alex Crook revealed that Edmond Tapsoba is ‘one to keep an eye on’ for Liverpool.
Tapsoba has previously been on the club’s radar, and he is currently excelling at Bayer Leverkusen. So, these are interesting comments from Crook.
Only 24-years-old, Tapsoba would come with a wealth of experience to Liverpool. He’s spent years now playing in the Bundesliga, where he has established himself as one of the best young centre-backs in the league.
His ability to play both as a left-sided and right-sided centre-back makes him a lucrative prospect. On top of that he’s also played as a full-back in the past, and he is very composed on the ball. Given his profile, it would not be a surprise if Liverpool are looking at him as a potential option for the summer.
