Scales provides Celtic contract update .

Brendan Rodgers had indicated that talks on a contract were in progress, but Liam Scales has disclosed there has been “nothing really” in terms of negotiations at Celtic.

After questioning his future at the club in the summer, the center-back has been an important member of Celtic’s team this season.

Scales entered the club after several injuries to the defence and never left because of his reliable performances this year.

Additionally, Rodgers has acknowledged that when Scales entered the first team, he had been eager to offer him a new contract at Parkhead.

Earlier this month, the Celtic manager even hinted that club executives were in communication with Scales’ agents.

Scales clarified that as of right now, there has been “nothing really of note” in relation to a new deal.

Scales acknowledged, “It’s been quiet enough, nothing really noteworthy.” “I’m sure that if it happens my agent will be dealing with that and I’ll be playing my games.”

“I think the club is in talks with Liam’s agent and he’s really happy because he’s playing,” Rodgers stated earlier this month.

“I have no doubt that will be resolved eventually. For him, it’s been an incredible journey.

“We want to get our business done as soon as possible, but it’s never easy to bring in quality players in January.

“After working on something for three or four months, things can occasionally shift.

“We are aware of our goals.
