Exclusive; A former Birmingham City player opens up about John Eustace amid interest in Rangers.

After Michael Beale was fired by Rangers at the weekend, Birmingham City manager John Eustace has been linked with a move to the Ibrox club.

John Eustace, the manager of Birmingham City, has been one of many people’s suggestions for the Rangers post.

After being fired by the Glasgow club on Sunday (October 1), Michael Beale left Ibrox.

Rangers have been connected to Eustace in the past, but Emile Heskey, a former Birmingham striker, thinks Eustace will stay at St. Andrew’s because helping the Blues get promoted might be a bigger draw for him.

Heskey told altindex.com that John Eustace is a fantastic manager for Birmingham.

“John has previously been linked to the Rangers position, and again as a result of Michael Beale’s dismissal over the weekend, so Birmingham needs to exert all of their effort to cling onto him and deter these kinds of clubs from hiring him.

It will be challenging for Birmingham to pull that off when teams like Rangers, a top team playing in Europe, show interest in John and make an offer. He may be more drawn to the opportunity to lead Birmingham to a play-off final and ultimately into the Premier League, and for that reason, I believe he will want to remain there.

Currently, Graham Potter, Pascal Jansen, and Kevin Muscat are among the betting favorites to take over the club.

“The club has that feel-good factor back.”

Heskey thinks Birmingham have had a good start to the season and believes they should be striving for a spot in the top six of the Championship. He attributes their success to the club’s new owners.

“From where Birmingham have come in recent years, this is a fantastic start to the season for them,” he remarked. There has been a lot of upheaval, many ups and downs, and the supporters have been growing a little irate.

It’s bringing back a feel-good factor to the club and has cheered up everyone around the club, which is what you want, with the new owners moving in and clearly taking care of the stand at St. Andrew’s over the summer that was condemned. Because of the new owners’ hard effort, Birmingham has been able to achieve some positive achievements.

“I believe that making the playoffs this year must be Birmingham’s goal. That is unquestionably attainable for this Birmingham team. As I previously stated, they have a terrific manager in John Eustace and a strong fan base that will support you as long as the players give it their all, which is what they are now doing, so things are looking up.
