Ian Evatt claims he was treated differently compared to Jon Brady as Bolton red cards’

‘I think it was a really poor refereeing performance and there are not many people who would argue with that.’

Bolton manager Ian Evatt has stated that the team will appeal George Thomason’s dismissal as well as his red card. Thomason has claimed that he was handled unfairly by the referees during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Sixfields, in contrast to Jon Brady.

Referee Jeremy Simpson immediately sent Thomason off the pitch when he surged in on Aaron McGowan on minute twenty-eight. Evatt was sent off for using “foul and abusive language” as the teams went down the tunnel at halftime because he could not believe the verdict.

Evatt was given a red card, which prevented him from doing his post-match media obligations on Saturday, but he answered questions about the incidents openly during his press conference on Monday.

“I’m going to appeal my red card 100%,” Evatt declared to the Bolton News. “We’ll also be appealing George’s red.

“I stood next to the fourth official, who was yelling over the comms, ‘no red, no red,’ and the referee made the call. I had an amazing view at the time.

The photographs or the various camera angles can be altered. Some people exaggerate the situation, in my opinion; he received the ball and failed to make touch with their player. However, there are pictures of the same player laughing after the incident.

“In my opinion, that is a foul—at worst, a yellow card—but it is most definitely not a red. Not many would disagree with me when I say that the refereeing performance was appalling.

“I made a very compelling case for the argument at halftime. No violence or profanity occurred, but I think their manager’s and my tolerance levels were quite different that day. I was dismissed, but we’ll file an appeal and assess our progress.
