Ged Brannan is excited about Morecambe’s next home game against Sutton United, which was postponed over the week.

The Shrimps were supposed to play Walsall, however a strong downpour that afternoon forced the postponement of the game.

“The only issue is that we have a lot of games coming up, and this will be the third straight away game after AFC Wimbledon (February 17) and Tranmere (February 13).”

“To be fair, the weather has been awful, and our game wasn’t the only one called off that evening.

“Hopefully, we can build on our victory at Crawley this Saturday with our field being in good condition.”

The winning at Crawley last Saturday was not only a victory for Ged Garner, but it also marked his second straight road victory.

The Barrow AFC loanee, who missed a penalty in the loss to Colchester United seven days prior, scored both of Morecambe’s goals after they fell behind within the first twenty minutes.

Despite the attention being focused on the 25-year-old’s incredible winner, Brannan was more pleased with his first goal and the manner Garner outran his defender to convert David Tutonda’s cross.

“I was more pleased with the first than the second because of the great finish he achieved,” he remarked.

“Hopefully, he can capitalise on the momentum we know he has in his locker—that finish and that movement.”
