All at Leyton Orient were deeply saddened to hear of the passing away*

On the evening of Sunday 11th February 2024, Kelvin Koyango, who is one of our Academy U12 parents, sadly passed away. After recently sustaining a broken leg from playing football, he subsequently had two operations to correct the initial injury, but an infection and ultimately pneumonia resulted in Kelvin’s passing.

Understandably, this has been devastating news that has left everybody shocked and heartbroken. Kelvin was a parent who was popular and well-liked not just amongst his fellow U12 parents, but the players and Academy staff too. He was a personality that was always supportive, funny, and engaging and this made him so instantly

recognisable at training and at Academy matches. He leaves behind his wife Lauren and his 3 children – Elise, Miley, and Romeo.

There is little doubt that Kelvin’s sudden passing will have a huge impact on so many people and our touchline for future U12 matches just won’t be quite the same without his presence and encouraging words of support.
