John Eustace outlines Blackburn Rovers’ focus in nervy relegation battle

Although John Eustace believes Blackburn Rovers are only thinking about themselves, he believes the Championship relegation race will come down to the wire.
There is more tension at Ewood Park since the Rovers are still looking for their first victory since Eustace took over as head coach. Although they have drawn five of their seven league games, the cluAfter three matches against local opponents, Blackburn only managed two points out of a potential nine against Swansea City, Millwall, and Plymouth Argyle, missing the chance to put points on the board. On paper, the final nine games are extremely difficult, with the top four still to play.b has been much harder to beat. However, victories have been scarce.

Rovers are now three points clear of the bottom three in 18th place. Five points separate 23rd and 15th in the standings, making it a very packed area of the leaderboard.

 

Eustace believes Rovers will be okay if they keep gaining points, but he believes the quest for survival will come down to a nerve-wracking finish.

“We are taking care of ourselves, that is all we are worried about,” he stated.

“We were having a poor run of form when we arrived. Out of ten games, we had lost perhaps seven or eight.”Including the ninety minutes against Newcastle, there have now been two losses in nine. Moving forward, we are doing well. Of course we want to win more games.

It’s critical that we continue to gain ground. It will definitely come down to the finals, which is the championship. Every game we play needs to have a competitive atmosphere and a battling mentality from us.

“We are demonstrating that right now. Naturally, I believe that everyone would feel better after a victory.

“We have a better chance of winning the game if we have 11 players on the pitch. Wins are hard to come by. It’s crucial that we avoid becoming very dejected because we didn’t succeed.
“It’s critical to keep up the good work and support one another; I believe the entire football team helped us get through some really trying times. I felt so proud of everyone.

Rovers have played nine times in 28 days due to a packed schedule, and Eustace will have his first week off before Middlesbrough before the international break.

He emphasised once more that, with only six players available, players are risking their lives for the squad and that there is minimal rotation.

“In my opinion, we’ve utilised the squad; we haven’t yet formed a cohesive unit. The squad has been called upon. We’ve got to play feisty players who are giving it their all and are running out of gas.

Tuesday around halftime, we had to substitute Callum. He made a fantastic effort when he showed up on Friday and stated he was available to play.

“Gallagher, Fadz, John Buckley—these players aren’t used to playing every week right now; they’re going all the way to the bottom and back. I’m so pleased of the dedication and hard work this group is putting forth.

“Now is the time to strike the correct balance (with a free week).” After ensuring that everyone is getting enough sleep and receiving the proper messages from the group, we can determine who is available and fit.

“We have another nine games to come up and we need to be prepared.”
