A man found guilty of raping girl aged 13

In a different incident that occurred elsewhere in the town, a jury also convicted Adam White guilty of sexually abusing a girl of the same age with the intention of raping her.

The events took place nearly five years apart.

After a trial at the High Court in Kilmarnock, a jury found 23-year-old White guilty despite his denial of both charges.

The first accusation concerned an event that occurred between October 1 and October 23, 2017, when White was sixteen years old.

According to the indictment, White—who was identified in court records as an inmate at HMP Kilmarnock—assaulted a thirteen-year-old girl by grabbing her by the body, forcing her face into a pillow, holding her down, taking off her clothes, and then raping her.

By a majority vote, the jury convicted White guilty.

The second charge brought against the Crown concerned an event that occurred on September 3, 2022, when White was 21 years old.

According to this charge, White supplied alcohol to the 13-year-old girl, climbed into bed with her, and put his body against hers while she was sleeping. He also sexually abused another girl.

According to the charge, White grabbed the girl by the body as she woke up and engaged in sexual activity with the intent to rape her.

White was unanimously found guilty of the second charge by the jury.

White’s sentence was postponed to a later time and he was remanded in custody after the jury’s decision.
