In North Ayrshire, a man lost his life after being struck by a Land Rover.
At roughly 22:45 on Wednesday, the pedestrian and the Discovery Sport were involved in a collision on the A737 south of Beith.
After calling for emergency assistance, the 46-year-old was declared dead on the spot.
For roughly six hours, the road was closed so that investigations could be completed. Witnesses should call the police, advised Sgt. Chris McColm.
He continued: “I would also ask anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage that could help with our investigation to get in touch.”
