The U-17 Women’s National Team begins their Group B campaign against China PR on Tuesday, 7 May 2024 at Bali United Training Center (6.00pm AEST). They will then take on defending champions Japan on Friday, 10 May 2024 at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium (9.00pm AEST).
Australia’s last group stage match versus Thailand is scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2024, at 6 p.m. AEST at Bali United Training Centre.
The chosen team, according to CommBank Junior Matildas Head Coach Rae Dower, was the result of 18 months of focused scouting, camps, and Talent Development Scheme games played throughout Australia, giving nearly 100 football players the chance to demonstrate their skills.
“We’re thrilled with the final squad’s makeup. We’re incredibly pleased with the team that is representing the country in this important competition, and we have more depth than ever in this cohort,” she said.

Nine players that are currently contracted to A-Leagues Women’s clubs make up the final roster, which represents six different Member Federations. A few players from A-League Women’s clubs suffered recent injuries that prevented them from being included in the final team, which allowed some players to be called up for the first time.
“We have five debutants who have been working extremely hard in their respective Member Federation programmes to gain selection, and we have a great mix of players who have contributed to our Asian Cup qualification,” Dower said.
“The players who have lost their lives due to injuries recently are extremely disappointed. That’s a part of football, and it will teach you how to be resilient and deal with disappointment.
“Their misfortune presents a chance for their colleagues.” We’ve been working to increase our depth, so when others aren’t available, we have guys who can step up and represent their country honourably.
“I express my gratitude to the corresponding Member Federations and club personnel for their assistance and cooperation in the advancement of our upcoming female football players,” she said in closing.
The team and crew will gather in Cairns on Wednesday, April 24, to start getting ready for the competition. They will then travel to Bali, Bali, five days later. At the end of each club’s campaign, players who were still active during the A-League Women’s Finals Series will be added to the roster.

Eight teams, divided into two groups of four, have qualified for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup Indonesia 2024TM, including the CommBank Junior Matildas.
Each group’s top two players move on to the knockout stage. The AFC will be represented at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Dominican Republic 2024TM, which will take place from October 16–November 3, 2024, by the top three finishing countries in the competition.
