Sutton-in-Ashfield roundabout road closed down now by police

The Kirkby Folly Road in Sutton-in-Ashfield is closed, and motorists are advised to give themselves extra time when travelling.
A sinkhole in Nottinghamshire has caused the closure of a road, causing delays and detours for drivers. On Friday, March 22, the Nottinghamshire County Council closed Kirkby Folly Road in Sutton-in-Ashfield due to the formation of a sinkhole at the mini-roundabout where it intersects with Newark Road.

Beyond its intersection with Hamilton Road, a little stretch of Newark Road is blocked off. The local government also stated that turning right at Station Road/Kirkby Folly Road was not permitted.

There are detours in place, and motorists are advised to take the B6139, A38, and Penny Emma Way. “Delays are likely, so please allow extra time for your journey,” a spokesman of Nottinghamshire County Council stated.

Bus operator Trentbarton clarified that three services could no longer serve the bus stop on Kirkby Folly Road due to its closure. “Due to a road closure on Kirkby Folly Road in Sutton-in-Ashfield we are unable to serve this stop as buses are diverting via Sotheby Avenue & Farndon Road,” a spokeswoman stated.

“33 to Ilkeston 90 to Ripley TheThrees [C] to Nottingham Journeys towards Sutton & Mansfield are unaffected.”
