A man has been charged with the murder of another man, who was discovered dead in his Nottinghamshire house.
On Friday at 00:55 GMT, police responded to Northfields Close in Sutton-in-Ashfield after receiving complaints of an assault on a male.
A 76-year-old man, who has yet to be properly recognised, was pronounced dead on the site.
Peter McGarry, 53, of Alexandra Street in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, was charged with murder on Sunday night.
He is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court later.
Det Insp Melanie Crutchley of Nottinghamshire Police said, “I would like to reassure residents that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident, and our inquiries will continue.”
