Back of Swansea City centre Nathan Wood is aware that the Swans are open to hearing proposals for his summer departure from the team. The Swans just activated the player’s one-year option, extending his contract.
We are aware that Nathan has found it tough to accept this contract without receiving any more compensation, but things could now turn out well for him and the Swans this summer. With one year remaining, his value is constant; however, if no club is found during summer break, that value will decrease. The Swans will try again in January, but it will be far less valuable.
Two years ago, under Russell Martin’s coaching, Nathan signed for an undisclosed sum; this was another very wise financial decision for Swansea City. Martin had Wood as his number one objective. Nathan has since been a member of and performed for the England U21 team. Undoubtedly, that addition to his resume has made people take notice of him. Russell Martin was keen to take Nathan with him when he moved to Southampton last summer. The Saints’ proposals did not correspond with the player’s value as determined by the Swans. The Swans’ valuation of ten million pounds was a tongue-in-cheek comment from the mainstream media. That wasn’t the case at all.
Nathan’s current estimated net worth is between $5 and $6 million, which is at the high end of the spectrum. The young player is very suitable for a team that prioritises a robust defence, should clubs express interest in him. To be honest, even with his speed and athleticism, he hardly ever feels the urge to sprint after teams that have the ball. Nathan’s performance this season has angered Swans supporters because, despite his lengthy injury layoff, he occasionally appears unwilling to give it his all. We believe that has to do with maintaining his physical condition because he has a fairly clear future planned outside of Swansea.com.
Nathan has undoubtedly made significant progress at Swansea City. Before the Swans came in for him, he was nearly lost in the middle of nowhere at Middlesbrough. When a stint on loan at Hibernian failed to instill trust in him, the Swans took over. He most definitely fits the “player trading model” that the team has abandoned in the last several months. But money is money, especially in light of the recent losses announced by the Swans. This time around, their financial trend must be upward. It is also important to remember that there are a lot of participants and additional funds that haven’t been disclosed in recent reports, totaling about £17,000,000. That will be really beneficial.
Although we anticipate the Swans to play hardball, they should absolutely trade for the best offer on this guy. Time will tell; initially, the Swans may face some low ballers who will try their resolve, but they will also make sure interested parties are aware of their position. It has been verified that the player is prepared for a transfer.
