It was confirmed that the Scot had been offered a new contract by boss Steve Evans when the club’s retained list was confirmed following the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign, but following lengthy discussions between the two parties, Lindsay has opted to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.

Lindsay arrived in South Yorkshire from Ross County in July 2019 and has played a significant role in the club’s successes in the five years that have followed.
