Exeter City FC looses star to Wycombe Wanderers

25-year-old Hartidge, a vastly experienced third tier operator, has ended his eight-year first-team spell with the Grecians to make the move to Adam’s Park.

A central defender with eight non-league loan spells under his belt, Hartidge made 154 appearances for his boyhood club in League Two and League One.

Opting not to extend his stay, the Devon native played 35 times last season as Gary Caldwell’s side finished 13th in League One.

In Exeter’s first season back in the third tier in 2022–2023, he made 43 appearances, which was his most productive campaign.

Subject to EFL and FA approval, he will officially join Wycombe on July 1st, the day his contract at St. James’ Park expires.The defender joined the team as the first recruit of the Mikheil Lomtadze era.
Hartidge and the Exeter staff experienced an emotional departure after serving on the club’s books for 17 years.

The 25-year-old Hartidge, a very skilled third-tier operator, has left the Grecians after eight years in the first team to join Adam’s Park.

Hartidge, a center defender with eight non-league loan stints under his credit, played 154 games in League Two and League One for his childhood club.

For Hartidge and the Exeter staff, it was an emotional farewell after 17 years of being on the books with the club.

As soon as Hartidge announced his departure, Caldwell said, “It’s always a sad moment, but a proud moment at the same time.”

We hope they have amazing careers in the larger football world, as our Academy has produced many successful alumni.

Ollie Wakins’s achievements in the Premier League are the main topic of discussion. Josh Key has had a fantastic season with Swansea City in the Championship, Jack Sparkes gained promotion with Portsmouth, and Archie Collins is playing in a play-off semi-final this week with Peterborough United.
