Beaumont continued by saying that the Leigh Leopards will be announcing a new acquisition this week, and that Melbourne Storm prop Aaron Pene is most likely the man, during a fan question and answer session that was streamed on the team’s YouTube page.
This comes after Beaumont criticised Hull FC once more for the manner in which they conducted business in 2024.
Hull’s status in the top tier is essentially assured despite their terrible on-field performance, as they are now ranked second from the bottom in the Super League table. This is because they received a Grade A grade in IMG’s preliminary results towards the end of the previous season.
According to Beaumont, considering their present Super League situation, that wasn’t “right.” He said, “To clear all your decks and be interested in how you’re going to make a profit and not be bothered because there’s no relegation is not sport.” Beaumont stated on the club’s YouTube page that “it’s not right and it shouldn’t be rewarded.”
In light of this, Leigh is not content to sit back and this week, a new recruit will be joining the Leigh Sports Village.
We may make the announcement of our newest signee this week; they could show up on Friday. You could argue that we didn’t need to take that action, but everything has a price.
