Burnley is currently looking for a second Sunderland player.
According to Alan Nixon, the Clarets are interested in signing Dan Ballard, according to his Patreon.
Ballard joined Wearside on a four-year contract last summer, ending his 15-year tenure with Arsenal after successful loan spells with Blackpool and Millwall.
The defender’s debut year at Sunderland was marred by injuries, with him missing four months after breaking his foot only two games in. Ballard was subsequently sidelined for the final two months of the season due to a hamstring injury.
However, the Northern Ireland international has started the season excellently and has been one of the club’s finest players, garnering praise for his outstanding defence and even contributing two goals.
Ballard’s outstanding performance won him a new four-year contract in August, much to the pleasure of supporters. They won’t be pleased to learn that his improved agreement hasn’t deterred interest from abroad.

Nixon claims that Vincent Kompany’s team is keeping an eye on Ballard and may make a bid in the January transfer window to shore up their leaky defence.
The Clarets now have the second-worst goals against total in the Premier League (20), while Ballard has four clean sheets this season.
The 24-year-old is the second Sunderland player to be linked with Burnley in recent months, with the Premier League club still interested in signing Jack Clarke following his impressive start.
