Man charged with murder of man in Oldham

A man has been officially charged with the murder of a 45-year-old man in Oldham by detectives looking into his death.

On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at around 11:55 p.m., the Greater Manchester Police received a call regarding an unconscious man who was found on the street on Abbey Hills Road in Oldham.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man with a severe head injury who is now known as Vincent McDonagh. He sadly died a short while after, despite the emergency personnel’ best attempts.

Charged with Vincent’s murder, Lee Francis Burns (07/06/1985) of Worsley Street, Oldham, has been placed under remand pending his Tuesday, June 18, 2024, court appearance at Tameside Magistrates Court.

In an homage to him that can be found here, Vincent’s family called him a “loving and devoted family man”: Greater Manchester Police (gmp.police.uk): The family of a 45-year-old man who was killed in Oldham on Thursday night has paid homage to a “loving and devoted family man.”

Anyone with information about this occurrence is urged by GMP to contact the police and report it.

This includes anybody who might possess pertinent video from a dashcam, mobile or CCTV system. Reports can be made by calling 101 and providing log 3909 from June15, 2024.
