Sheffield Wednesday provides an update on the injured international’s recuperation.
Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed that Chilean international, Juan Delgado, will be returning to Middlewood Road to recover from injury.
His national team declared on Tuesday that the 30-year-old would not be playing in their games during this month’s international break due to hip surgery he had earlier in the day.
The wide player, who was a regular in Xisco until leaving last week, is hurt by the news. He and his colleagues will be trying to make an impression on the new manager when they are eventually appointed, and it’s unclear when he’ll be back on the pitch.
It has been confirmed by the Owls, though, that he will undergo his rehabilitation at Wednesday’s training ground.
“Juan Delgado has withdrawn from international duty due to injury,” the club said in a statement. The 30-year-old was scheduled to play for his nation against Venezuela on Tuesday and Peru on Friday in World Cup qualifying.
“Delgado has played for the Owls in 14 games since moving to Hillsborough in the summer.” To start his recuperation, the former Pacos Ferreira man will go back to Middlewood Road.
Wednesday’s injury concerns are numerous as they get ready to play Watford on October 21st. Momo Diaby, who is still unregistered, was recently spotted without his moon boot after suffering an injury during his S6 debut, and Barry Bannan and Josh Windass both missed the 0-0 draw with Huddersfield Town.
