A man has died in hospital after serious attack in Kilmarnock

The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the incident at Kilmarnock Road in Mauchline.

On Friday, June 18, at around 8.40 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene on Kilmarnock Road in Mauchline following reports of injuries involving a 24-year-old.

The individual was brought to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where on Wednesday, medical staff declared him deceased.

An investigation into the incident has now been started by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

“A 24-year-old man who was injured at a commercial premises in Kilmarnock Road, Mauchline has passed away,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said.

Around 8:40 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, emergency personnel responded to the scene, and the guy was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“He died on Friday, July 5, 2024. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

The man’s identity has not yet been made public.

A HSE spokesperson said: “We are aware of this incident and investigating.”
