Andrea Radrizzani caught in Leeds United lie after Raphinha twist, 49ers to step in

A lot has happened at Leeds United since Raphinha last pulled on a white shirt, with relegation to the Championship and a change of ownership at Elland Road.

But somehow the Brazilian winger’s sale is still occupying the thoughts of those in charge of the Whites, as it has been reported that Barcelona still owe Leeds a total of £53.6million in transfer fees that are yet to be paid from 2022 [Ara, 10 October].Leeds UnitedThe Catalonian outlet reports that £32.86 million is still owed for the former Premier League star in the long run, and £20.75million on top of that, described as “short-term debt.”

Most fans had believed that any outstanding money required to be paid had already been agreed and former Whites’ owner Andrea Radrizzani had seemingly confirmed that to be the case himself.

As shared by Leeds Live [4 September 2022] the former Leeds United owner took part in a Twitter exchange at the time where he was asked whether or not the Catalan club had paid the full sum for Raphinha to which he replied: “All good, thanks for caring.”Leeds United

It appears now after Ara’s report that Radrizzani was in fact potentially lying about the fee received for the Brazilian winger, but luckily for Leeds fans, the new owners at Elland Road, the 49ers have stepped in to once again undo the damage left by the previous owners.

But so far, the 49ers have stepped up to every challenge they’ve faced and despite losing most of their first-team squad over the summer they have equipped Daniel Farke with a strong squad that looks capable of returning to the Premier League.

If they can secure the money for Raphinha as well in the coming weeks or months, it will not only be another aspect of their leadership to praise but it also could provide a small war chest for Farke to raid when the January transfer window rolls around.

No matter, what Leeds are in a much better place under the 49ers than they were previously.
