‘Really good’: Celtic makes ‘fantastic’ signing of ‘start off’ the transfer window

With the transfer window in full swing, Celtic have been busy getting players off the books rather than getting new faces on them.

Brendan Rodgers faces a five-man roster this summer after Sead Haksabanovic and Marco Tilio left the building, Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo returned to their original clubs and Celtics legend Joe Hart retired.
Though there hasn’t been an announcement yet, Celtic has been linked to a number of players, so it appears like there is a lot of action going on behind the scenes. New players have also been brought in.
But according to Simon Donnelly, a former Celtic striker, all of that might be about to change.

‘Fantastic’ Adam Idah will join Celtic

The talk about Adam Idah joining Celtic has been going on for a long because there has reportedly been movement in signing him. According to Donnelly, this is a transaction that Celtic will close very soon.

Donnelly stated, “I would like to think so,” [Superscoreboard]. Since he is a player for Norwich and they have seen how well he performed up here for Celtic, the initiative is essentially in their court.

“Let me just say that this guy had an incredible four or five months up here and scored some really significant goals, none more so than the Scottish Cup winner.”

However, I felt that his overall performance and the fact that [Liam] Scales indicated he is well-liked in the dressing room, that would be a really good signing to start off the transfer window for Celtic.

“I believe it will go through,” I replied. “When I said the ball is in Norwich’s court, I mean, they can see how well he’s done and he’s their player. They will want to milk a wee bit more money out of it. I believe that will occur because Celtic want the boy enough and recognise the importance of closing the transaction.

The Celtic team would benefit greatly from having Idah on it. In Rodgers’ first season back at Celtic, his contribution from the previous campaign helped secure a league and Scottish Cup double.
The Norwich striker has demonstrated his ability to play for the team, and although Celtic and the Championship team continue to negotiate, the fans will be hoping that this is a deal Rodgers completes sooner rather than late
