Man, attacked in Norwich, died from bleed to the brain

The man was attacked outside Chicago’s on Prince of Wales Road early on Tuesday morning, and he died from severe head injuries.

According to a post-mortem investigation, a brain bleed caused his death.

London resident Ion Lacatus has been charged with manslaughter and is being held in custody until his Monday appearance at Norwich Magistrates Court.

The 27-year-old male who was detained in relation to the assault is still being held by the police.

‘Busy time’

Five more guys, two of them were 30 years old and the others 36, 37, and 43, were detained in relation to the event but were later released without being charged.

The investigation’s lead detective, Det Ch Insp Neil Luckett, stated: “It was a very busy time of night in an area frequented by hundreds of pub and club patrons.

“Therefore, we would like to speak with anyone who thinks they may have seen the fight that tragically resulted in the victim’s death.

“No matter how insignificant you may think the information is we would still like to hear from you.”

Norfolk Police is asking anyone with information to give them a call.
