That is according to Football Insider, who have clamed that Leyton Orient have seen a bid of £175,000 rejected for the player, with Boyd-Munce’s current club – Scottish Premiership side St Mirren – looking for £250,000.
Shaun Maloney’s Wigan are rivalling Richie Wellens’ side for Boyd-Munce, and they are looking to have a strong summer of activity as they try to return to the Championship in this 2024/25 season.
The Latics were unable to mount a serious push for the play-offs last season, as point deductions meant they were playing catch-up in League One.
They will, however, be eager to take advantage of the new beginning at the DW Stadium as they attempt to contend with the major teams at the top of the league.
If the team wants to contend for the top six, Maloney will probably want new players, and it seems like they are keeping an eye on Boyd-Munce.
Journalist Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports revealed on Tuesday that St. Mirren turned down Leyton Orient’s £175,000 offer for midfielder Caolan Boyd-Munce.
He continued by saying that the Scottish team is hoping to further extend the 24-year-old’s contract, which is already good until next summer as a result of the appearances he made.
The amount that Orient had offered for the Northern Irishman has also been reported by Football Insider, who also mentioned that Wigan Athletic is also interested in the player.
The same update also said that St. Mirren will not consider his leaving unless they get a sum of approximately £250,000.
Boyd-Munce has been a member of the Scottish team since March 2023, when he left Middlesbrough on a free transfer.

Boyd-Munce began his playing career with Glentoran in his native Northern Ireland, but he left the team at a young age to play for Birmingham City in England.
Prior to departing and joining Middlesbrough, the midfield player made nine appearances for the main squad and represented the team’s under-18 and under-21 divisions.
Boyd-Munce’s tenure at Boro wasn’t great; he only made four first team games. In January of last year, Middlesbrough made the decision to allow the player to depart on a free transfer.
It took him a few months to find a new team, but St. Mirren, for whom he played three times last season, quickly picked him up.
However, he was a huge player in the 2023–2024 season, appearing in 35 games in the Scottish Premiership and an additional eight in cup tournaments.

Boyd-Munce is obviously being watched by a few EFL teams, which is not surprising considering how successful he has been for St. Mirren.
With his English league experience and his ability to elevate his game in Scotland, the midfielder would be a great addition to Wigan or Leyton Orient. He would significantly boost both teams.
He is a player with a lot of energy, who enjoys running up and down the field, and who is excellent with the ball at his feet, but he does need to improve his numbers in terms of goals and assists.
