First Scottish screening of new documentary set for Beith

Beith Community Development Trust are thrilled to announce a screening of a compelling documentary at Geilsland Estate.

This special event, which includes music, meditation, and an engaging discussion, promises to be a unique and inspiring evening for the whole family to attend.

This will be the first time that the documentary ‘KIVA – The Call of the Wisdom Keepers’ has been screened in Scotland, so it’s not to be missed

The documentary, to be shown at Geilsland on August 25, delivers a message of hope from the Original People.

This film captures the spirit of a 30-year-old ceremony where indigenous leaders come together for peace, equality, and reconnection with Mother Earth in a world where people are becoming more and more cut off from the natural world.

Their wisdom offers invaluable insights into restoring harmony and sustainability in our lives.

The event will feature discussion from the following prominent speakers.

Cheryl Angel (USA), Lakota Wisdom Keeper and Water Protector, brings her extensive experience in indigenous activism and community healing.

Marijke Kodden (The Netherlands), is the filmmaker granted rare access to document the KIVA ceremonies across several countries, capturing the voice of Mother Earth through the Wisdom Keepers.

Michelle Sutherland (Scotland), is a social entrepreneur and founder of Definitii, who is dedicated to integrating indigenous wisdom into modern social entrepreneurship.

This evening invites attendees to reflect on how we can heal our relationship with the Earth, guided by the deep-rooted wisdom of indigenous cultures.

Cheryl Angel’s journey and her commitment to environmental protection, Marijke Kodden’s evocative filmmaking, and Michelle Sutherland’s vision for a harmonious future offer a rich tapestry of perspectives and inspiration.

All proceeds will support the presence of Marijke and Cheryl and the running of the event.

Tickets can be purchased from the Definitii website.
