A man has been arrested after the death of a 75-year-old pedestrian who was hit by two cars near Doncaster, police have said.
At 18:10 GMT on Tuesday, the elderly man was declared deceased at the site of the incident in Greens Way, Mexborough.
According to the police, he was hit by a Ford Fiesta and a Peugeot Bipper Tepee.
Subsequently, the driver of the Fiesta, who was 23 years old, was taken into custody on charges of operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
According to authorities, he was also being detained on suspicion of killing someone by driving recklessly and failing to stop.
To assist police in their inquiry, the Peugeot’s driver stayed on the site.
According to authorities, the victim’s family had been notified and was receiving support. Officers are urging anyone with information to get in touch.
Additionally, the A6023 was stopped for enquiries before being reopened in the early hours of Wednesday, police added.
