Prolific winger Jamayne Isaako will be a Dolphins player until at least the end of the 2026 season after agreeing to terms on a new deal this week.
Isaako led the Telstra Premiership in both tries and points scored in 2023, becoming the first player since 1990 to do so, and was rewarded with selection in the Dally M Team of the Year.
Terry Reader, the chief executive of the Dolphins, stated that the 26-year-old’s new deal was a worthy incentive for him. The Kiwis will be facing off against the Dolphins in the Pacific Championships this month.
Reader stated, “Jamayne could not have played any better in 2023.”
“Jamaican has become a top player in the competition because to his commitment and desire to succeed this year.
“It was an easy decision for the club to make to extend his contract to ensure he is a Dolphin for at least another three years.”
Paul Momirovski, the centre who won the premiership, was released by the Roosters to play for the Leeds Rhinos in the last year of his contract.
Before rejoining the Bondi-based team in 2022, Momirovski played for the Wests Tigers in 2019, the Melbourne Storm in 2020, and the Penrith Panthers in 2021. He made his NRL debut with the Roosters in 2018.
He participated in 60 NRL games for the four teams and was a part of Penrith’s winning squad in the 2021 grand final.
“We would like to thank Paul for his contribution to the Roosters, from his time in the lower grades through to the NRL. Paul is not only a talented football player but also a very good person,” Roosters CEO Joe Kelly said.
Sea Eagles forward Kelma Tuilagi has signed a two-year contract with Parramatta, which will begin in 2024.
After making his debut with Wests Tigers in 2021, Tuilagi signed a three-year contract with Manly ahead of the 2023 season. However, he was granted an early release from his contract, meaning he will play for the blue and gold for the next two years.
“We believe that at 24, he will play some of his best football and will be a valuable member of the team next season,” stated Mark O’Neill, general manager of football at Eels.
Starford To’a, the centre for Wests Tigers, has extended his contract by a further two years, meaning he will stay with the team until at least the conclusion of the 2026 season.
To’a, who joined the Wests Tigers from the Knights in 2022, has played 39 games in his two seasons there. He has been included in the Tonga squad that will travel England for an unprecedented three Test series.
The Sharks signed outside back Mawene Hiroti and hooker Jayden Berrell again, as well as extended the contract of local prospect Kade Dykes, to strengthen their roster ahead of the 2024 campaign.
Before suffering a season-ending ACL injury in February, Dykes was expected to push for a spot in the Sharks NRL squad for 2023. However, the 21-year-old has now signed a new contract that will keep him with the team through the end of 2025.
Following yet another outstanding NSW Cup season for the Newtown Jets, Hiroti and Berrell have both agreed to one-year contracts through 2024.
Two members of the Warriors’ 2023 roster have left the team: centre Brayden Wiliame announced his retirement from the NRL, even though he still had one year left on his contract with the team, while second-rower Bayley Sironen signed a two-year contract to join the Catalans.
In addition, Melbourne’s Jayden Nikorima, a representative of the Māori All Stars, and Tariq Sims, a former NSW Origin forward, have signed two-year contracts with the Catalans.
Jordan Grant, Tom Eisenhuth, and George Jennings have all left Melbourne, the club has also revealed.
England wide player Luke Thompson, who signed a four-year contract to play for Wigan starting in the 2019–20 season, is returning home from Canterbury. Thompson, who played in the World Cup last year, is one of seven appearances for England. He won two premierships with St Helens in 2014 and 2019.
After moving to Australia in 2020, the 28-year-old international played 42 NRL games with the Bulldogs during a restricted injury-plagued tenure.
Oryn Keeley, a forward with the Knights, has inked a new three-year contract with the Dolphins.
The 20-year-old, who made his Newcastle debut the previous season, has signed a contract that will keep him with the new team through the conclusion of the 2026 campaign and is now among the club’s top 30 players.
