Police appeal after two die in Gillingham A13 crash.

Following a crash in Gillingham that claimed the lives of two, police have issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam evidence.
On July 25, just after 9:00 am BST, officers were dispatched to Gillingham Marshes on the A13 in response to complaints of a collision involving a car and a stationary vehicle.
A short while ago, the stationary vehicle was engaged in an accident.

Three persons received non-life-threatening medical attention at the hospital after two were pronounced deceased at the spot.

The first crash was not fatal, but before any resources were on the scene, according to the Met Police, and this was followed by the fatal crash.
Although it took place inside the Met Police’s jurisdiction, it was extremely near to the Essex Police border.
This resulted in Essex Police’s control room fielding 999 calls following the initial collision.


Regarding the response, both forces have made an obligatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
“This is an extremely tragic incident, and my thoughts remain with the families of those who lost their loved ones,” stated Detective Julie Trodden of the Metropolitan Police Department’s major collision investigation section.

“Anyone who may have been driving along this stretch of road around 5:30 July 26th and who may have dashcam footage of the incident is someone we would like to speak with.”
