Today’s accident in Gratiot County that claimed the life of a 66-year-old man may have been caused by a medical emergency.
One minute prior to the collision on M-57 and Rich Road at approximately 7:35 p.m. in North Shade Township, erratic driver crossed into the eastbound lane of M-57 while travelling west, according to a press release issued by Gratiot County Sheriff Michael A. Morris on Wednesday.
Dennis Svok, of Middleton, was declared deceased at the scene by responding deputies, according to Morris. It was also found that Svok’s westbound car struck an eastbound car driven by a 25-year-old Grand Rapids woman, who was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
