Danny Rohl send message to fans

Danny Rohl has set his sights on further recruits to Sheffield Wednesday’s side.

Sheffield Wednesday has made great strides in the summer transfer window, adding nine new players to increase squad depth throughout the pitch. All positions have improved from the previous season, most notably wing-back where Yan Valery and Max Lowe have arrived. Attacking options have also been greatly increased, with Jamal Lowe making an instant impact that Rohl recognised due to his connection to Josh Windass, a fan favourite of the Owls. Nevertheless, there is still a push to add more attackers, with Sory Kaba emerging as a fallback option should the Owls fail to bring Ike Ugbo to S6.

Despite the ongoing concerns on who will lead the line for Danny Rohl’s side this season, the German boss is still looking at other ‘interesting’ options.

Sheffield Wednesday targeting Premier League loan moves

Rohl has made it clear that his side are looking to target Premier League talent ahead of the new campaign, with there being players available on loan for Sheffield Wednesday to acquire.

“We have some players in mind from Premier League clubs that we think would be very interesting to take them,” Rohl said in an interview with The Star.

Then, as is typical, players will emerge, and we will have to act quickly to accommodate them.

“I think it will be interesting to see what happens with this squad at Sheffield Wednesday in the coming weeks.”

After a stellar half-season between the sticks in the 2023–24 campaign, James Beadle is back for Sheffield Wednesday, who have only made one loan signing this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday have the upper hand in bringing in Premier League loans

It’s very well documented that Rohl can have a significant impact on the development of his younger players, notably Bailey Cadamarteri who was entrusted by the German boss to lead the line on numerous occasions.

Beadle has already thrived during a short spell at Hillsborough, which led to Brighton sending him back for a following season, with the Premier League outfit believing that Sheffield Wednesday is the best place for his development.

As a result, Sheffield Wednesday will be one of the more favourable options when Premier League sides offer a young player to a Championship side, and that all boils down to how Rohl successfully nurtures young talent.

Whether players have decided to commit their future in staying at Sheffield Wednesday, or signed from elsewhere, they always comment on Rohl being the deciding factor for them making that decision, and there is no doubt that potential Premier League loanees will follow suit.
