Preston North End receive update on pursuit of top tier star

The Deepdale outfit are rapidly heading towards the start of another Championship campaign and Ryan Lowe is keen to strengthen.

They have cast their eyes towards Belgium and Molenbeek defender Ilay Camara, who could be on the move this summer.

However, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, there are ‘currently no concrete discussions’ taking place between Camara and Preston.

The right-back is also the subject of interest from another Belgian side in the shape of Standard Liege.

Camara is eager to leave, and Standard Liege made him a new offer at the end of last week.

There are still two years remaining on Camara’s contract at Molenbeek, which is twenty-one years old.
He made 28 appearances in the Belgian top flight last season and chipped in with seven assists and three goals.
