Air ambulance called to serious crash as motorway closed

All emergency services sent to scene of collision in Somerset

Tuesday, July 30, saw the closure of a busy section of the M5 in the West Country due to a serious incident. The collision’s aftermath was disrupting Somerset’s north and southbound carriageways between Bridgwater North’s junction 23 and South’s junction 24.

According to National Highways, every emergency service was dispatched to the scene of the collision. It was advised that delays could sometimes last up to an hour.

Since then, the road has reopened. As people take advantage of the nice weather and travel to scenic locations and seaside areas, major routes throughout the West Country are congested. It is predicted that today’s high will be 29°C, and Wednesday’s high will be 30°C.
